TEF Selection 2019: 3050 African Entrepreneurs Win Tony Elumelu Grant

About 3050 African entrepreneurs were announced winners of the 2019 Tony Elumelu Grant.

Out of the over 216,000 entrepreneurs that applied for the 2019 Tony Elumelu Grant, only 3049 made the list.

You can now view the list of successful TEF entrepreneurs.

The announcement was made by the Founder and Chairman of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony O. Elumelu CON.

The additional 2049 entrepreneurs were sponsored by Tony Elumelu partners.

These partners include: the United Nations Development Program, the African Development Bank and International Committee of the Red Cross.

Others include: the Republic of Benin, the Government of Botswana and the United States Consulate Office.

Also among the sponsors include: the Government of Anambra State and Indorama.

The details of the number of entrepreneurs sponsored by all the partners are as follows.

Mr. Elumelu expressed excitement at the response of the partners which has shored up the number of entrepreneurs awarded the grant to 3049.

He said the TEF Entrepreneurship Program was created to democratize luck and institutionalize opportunities.

In her remarks, the Special Guest of Honour and Wife of the President of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari commended Tony Elumelu for the Program.

She also commended the entire team at Tony Elumelu Foundation as well as the partners for the bold effort.

What Next On the Tony Elumelu Grant Program?

All the winners of the Tony Elumelu Grant will be inducted into the TEF Alumni Network.

They will be taken through a thorough 12-week training program that will equip them with all the skills they need to become successful entrepreneurs.

Upon completion of the 12-week training, all the entrepreneurs will submit a bankable business plan.

Upon submission of the business plan, the entrepreneurs will be funded with $5,000 seed capital.
