Successful Entrepreneurs in the 2017 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP 2017) have been announced by the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Foundation. Over 93,000 entrepreneurs from all 55 countries of Africa submitted applications for TEEP 2017, out of which 1,000 entrepreneurs have been named as successful applicants.
If you applied and were successful, that is, you made the TEEP 2017 shortlist, your entrepreneurial journey has just started. You will be inducted into the TEF class of 2017 and will take part in a 12-week compulsory online entrepreneurship training. During the programme, you will be attached to a mentor who will coach you and engage you throughout the programme.
You will be given weekly tasks and assignments which you must submit. At the end, you will be required to write a comprehensive business plan and develop too a business model canvass.
The online training programme will end with a boot-camp scheduled to hold in Lagos.
The boot-camp will bring together all the successful entrepreneurs from all parts of Africa. Irrespective of your location on the planet, the TEF will sponsor your trip to Lagos where you will participate in a boot-camp which promises to be very exciting and inspiring.
Upon completion of the boot-camp exercise, all the entrepreneurs will be awarded $5,000 each to start or expand their business. There is also a further $5,000 convertible loan that is accessible to TEEP entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence in managing the businesses started using the first $5,000 seed funding.
If however, you do not make the TEEP 2017 shortlist, don’t be discouraged. You’re among the over 92,000 entrepreneurs who could not make the list. There are other business funding opportunities out there that you could apply for. For instance, the African Entrepreneurship Award is still accepting applications for its 2017 award. It’s a $1million award, so it will be a good idea to give it your best shot.
