3 Days to go: Enter for the ITU Telecom World Young Innovators Competition For Entrepreneurs

ITU Young Innovators Challenge on Social Entrepreneurship

The ITU Telecom World Young Innovators Competition 2015 is looking for young social entrepreneurs using innovative ICT-based ideas to encourage entrepreneurship in local communities around the world.

These efforts can encourage entrepreneurs in any field, through incubation, skill building, mentorship, sharing resources and collaboration between small businesses.

The 2015 competition will once again seek the most exciting ideas or start-ups in response to four developmental challenges running one after the other in the months between now and ITU Telecom World 2015 in Budapest, Hungary.

A unique interactive platform exist open to young people from anywhere in the world to engage with the challenges and to contribute, comment, refine and evolve ideas.

Selected winners will join ITU at the event in Budapest for a four-day accelerator programme of pitching sessions, workshops and mentoring – as well as the opportunity to win seed funding.

The focus of this challenge will be on providing access to resources, education, incubation, start-up capital, investment and support to new start-ups, and on connecting start-ups with one another, with potential employees and with mentors and experts.

Given that the groups in society who tend to be underrepresented in technology are often the same groups who suffer from crises of unemployment and under-representation in the economy as a whole, ITU has a special focus on connecting young people, women, minorities, rural communities and others with tools in the field of technology.

Deadline for applications: September 14, 2015 12:00 pm CET
