Finally, the long awaited date for the opening of the application portal for the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017 is here and the TEEP is now accepting applications from entrepreneurs of African origin resident all across the world.
If you are an African entrepreneur whether resident in Africa or not and intend to execute your business idea in Africa, then the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017 invites you to submit your innovative business idea and stand a chance of securing world-class entrepreneurial training and most importantly, funding to the tune of $5,000 in grant to execute your business idea or expand your business.
The portal opens today January 1, 2017 and will close on March 1, 2017, that’s two months for you to prepare and submit a winning entry.
Remember that this opportunity is open to all African youths, which means that your entry must really be innovative and captivating for you to be shortlisted among the 1,000 candidates that will win the $5,000 grant.
How to Apply for the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017
To apply for the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017, please visit the TEEP Application Portal and then click on Apply Now as shown below.
The next page gives you the option of logging in with your email and password. This applies only to those who registered and participated in the programme in the previous year and perhaps were not successful.
Please note that successful candidates in previous editions of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme are not qualified to participate in this year’s programme as well as subsequent editions.
You can login with the credentials you used in the previous application (if you still remember them) or you can login using your Facebook or LinkedIn accounts as shown.
Click on any of the options to login. Allow TEEP access to your profile in order to successfully sign in.
However, for those who are new to the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme portal, they have to register or create an account on the platform.
To register, click on the Signup to Get Started marked below.
The next page gives you the option of signing up or creating an account using your Facebook or LinkedIn accounts. If you don’t have either of these accounts, then fill in the form with your primary email and easy to remember password and click Signup.
It must be stressed that the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017 will not entertain multiple entries. All entries found wanting will be automatically deleted without notice.
Upon clicking Signup, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you registered when creating the account. In case you don’t find it in your inbox, please check your spam folder and junk files. In your mail, you will find a link which you must click to activate your account.
After clicking on the link, you will be notified that your signup is complete. You can then click ‘Proceed to Login’.
Login with your email and password which you used during the signup process.
You will be redirected to your dashboard where you can click on a button to proceed with the application proper as shown below.
Next, you are taken to the introductory page where you are welcomed to the 2017 edition of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme, the flagship programme of the Tony Elumelu Foundation.
One of the very important things you must note is that you can save your information all the away and return to continue from where you left off. However, you must click the submit button on or before the closing date in order for your application to be considered.
Please note also that this year’s programme will be different from the previous years in terms of the assessment process as successful candidates will be shortlisted on a rolling basis. This means that the earlier you submit your application, the brighter your chances of being shortlisted.
So, prepare early and submit early too. However, don’t put up something shabby. This was mentioned in the last article on How to Get Shortlisted on TEEP.
In the section where you’re required to fill out your personal information, please endeavor to provide accurate information as any discovery that the information you provided was deliberately falsified to either beat the system or gain an undue advantage will result in automatic disqualification.
For the rest of the sections, it is strongly advised that you should answer the questions first in a MS-WORD Document and be satisfied with your answers before translating them onto the online form. This, experience shows, reduces the likelihood of errors tremendously.
Don’t forget that the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme 2017 has a very responsive support platform which you can always contact anytime you’re confused. Please take maximum advantage of the support provided.
Remember that it is only applications filled online that will be considered. No offline document will be attended to. Therefore, when you’re done with answering the questions on your MS-Word, proceed to the online form and fill out carefully and submit on or before the deadline.
