All serving and immediate past corps members especially those who took their Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme seriously have a cause to smile as they can access funding to the tune of 2 million Naira to implement their business ideas even as the Bank of Industry (BOI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to provide funding for youths desirous of starting up small and medium scale businesses.
Serving corps members are expected to apply for the funding. Also, prospective corps members, that is, 2015 Batch B corps members can apply but that would be after registration on camp as they need their state code to proceed with the application.
Importantly too, any 2014 Batch C corps member interested in applying for the funding would only qualify or be eligible if such corps member did not collect his/her certificate of National Service as this serves as the collateral for the funding.
- You must be a serving corps member or a 2014 Batch C corps member who is yet to collect his/her discharge certificate.
- You must have a saleable business plan as the funding is highly competitive.
- You must have some level of entrepreneurship training.
Deadline for application: November 3, 2015.
